Sunday is the day everything changed. The risen Son of God walked out of the grave. He left behind an empty tomb. Angels asked those who sought Him, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” The grave was not an appropriate place to find Him. “He is not here, He has risen.” (Matthew 28:6) Today we celebrate His resurrection.
This is the day on which the entire Christian faith rests. It is arguably the most important event in human history. Without the resurrection, there is no hope for eternity. “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain…and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:14)
But Christ is risen from the dead. We declare that eternal truth today. He is alive, as is our hope. How amazing a difference one day makes.
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
