A local hunter once found a murder victim dumped in the swamp. It was our job to determine who she was and what happened. The evidence led us to another jurisdiction, to her boyfriend’s house. We believed he was the suspect.
The inside of his house told a story. Blood spatter covered the walls. Blood stained the floor. Blood covered the mattress. Blood was just about everywhere. We called that city’s homicide detective. He came out to see for himself. He saw the blood spatter throughout the house. Then he claimed he couldn’t find any evidence that the murder occurred in his jurisdiction.
I held my tongue. I knew what he was doing. He didn’t speak from logic but from an agenda. He saw the evidence, he just didn’t want to accept it. He also didn’t like the responsibility of an unsolved case. He said, “It’s still your case.” I didn’t answer. I simply played along.
We loaded up the suspect and drove him to our county. We let him confess along the way. He said he murdered the lady at his house and brought her to the swamp to hide her. We didn’t turn around and go back. We drove to our jurisdiction and called the investigator from there. “Looks like it’s your case after all,” I said. “Come get your suspect.”
It is often easier to see the truth than to accept it. I recently listened to a man expound on the glories of the universe. With great passion, he described levels of design and complexity that boggle the mind. But, in the same breath, claimed he saw no evidence for a creator. Wait a minute! I thought. You just presented the evidence…
My job for the last four decades has involved determining truth from evidence. I am convinced well beyond a reasonable doubt that we are created beings, living on a created planet, in a universe created by a sovereign God. We can argue how He did it, and even when He did it. But there is no denying His creative hand behind all this.
Why is this important? God desires all people to know the truth. He reveals Himself to us in creation, “so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.” (Isaiah 41:20 NIV)
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans 1:20 NLT)

Two of my favorite verses. I have posted these with photos of God’s evidence over the years. Deep down humanity knows but most try to fill that call from God with anything and everything else.
Good luck with the blog. -

Love the verse from Romans. Makes you wonder how scientists deny our Creator.
